PengLai pavilion ,which established in 1061 in north song dynasty ,gained its fame as one of the four most famous towers in ancient china with yellow crane tower,yueyangtowerand tengwang pavilion,the scenic spot,standing on the top of the red danya cliff consists of six main buildings including penglai pavilion ,palace of heaven queen ,palace of dragon king ,luzu hull ,sanqing hall ,mituo temple and their accessories ,they form a gigantic complex of ancient buildings and occupy and area of 18.500sq.m
 Penglai Water City
Penglai water fortress is one of the earliest and best preserved ancient military ports of china ,a nationally protected historic relic .it consists of water gate docks ,batteries and other military constructions,clinging to the mountains and faing the sea ,and it enhances each other's beauty with penglai pavilion
Qi Ji guang home village
born in dengzhonu (noe penglai ),Qi jiguang (1528-1588) was a famous general resisting japanese pirates in the ming dyansty ,an outstanding strategist and a great national hero in chinese history ,born in g general's family ,Qi Jiguang was well educated with both cultural and military knowledges since childhood ,he'd threw himself into the coastal frontier for ten years ,he created new weapons and military deployments,established the famous Qi army ,by which he defeated japanese pirates along the southeast coastline both the southern japanese pirates and the northren invaders were terror-stricken at the hearing of Qi jiguan's name in chinese history QI Jiguang was also an ancient stragic theorist with his outstanding militany works ,he had written such military works as jixiao new book and actral records of training military force .in his zhizhi tang poem-colection such famous verses as "I prefer peace of the sea to being conferred a high official post ",were left over.
On January 4.1588,Qi jiguang died in his hometown penglai people construct QI Jiguang's hometown to memorize him ,where now keeps hte provincially protected historical relics, QI gateways and aitemple find famous histouical sites in Qi Jigheig's hometown.
 In the area of scenery sports,there are classical architecture of our national style,including large - scale white marble walls,liuxuanĦ˘yiqingxuanĦ˘temple of three stars,temple of God of wealth,temp;e of crane.annulat corridor.temple of 8 immontals etc.more than 2-statues stand there and over 100taolst immartals are being served there.besides,there are 2 artificiallakes which are named "the north sea" and "the south lake",they are poured in with sea water and frech water respectively.The annular corridor over 400 meters,the north of which is connected with 9 pavilions,has 174 color paintings among the rafters,vividly illustrating the fairy tales of 8 immertals' success of ascending to heaven.It is fartastlc thar there is abeautiful picture wherever you go.
 Mountain tianheng, 2.5 meters from the penglai city,is situated in the west side of the mountain "red cliff".It's dubbed as "dengzhou"cape because it lies to one side of "dengzhou" of the strait of the sea of "bohai",and also eams the name of Mountain laobei for it leans at the nerthernmost of the sharclong pennysula.The line between the lighthouse in "tianheng" and the one in Mountain lao serves as the boundary of "bohai" sea and "huanghai" sea,therefore it achieves the unique geographical lecation - 2 seas divided by one mountain.
The Mountain "tianheng",with its ocher nocks,hasarelevation of 72 meters;with its southeast connected with Mountain "red cliff".
Mountain tianheng got its name for its by gone use for stationing the troops by Emperor Qin in the late qin dynasty.today,it also has historicak remains of font set in ming and qing dynasty. in1987,tianheng opend up as a park for tourists,after whichmore scenery spots were built,including onĦŞsea cableway for sightseeing,the palace of 100 Gods,shooting range city for fighting with laser-gun,thrilling playground,loading channel,cinema running the whole week etc.
 Seaside Park:it is in PengLai City and it leans against the Bo and the Yellow Sea,and the coastline is 8621 kilometers.There are basic rock seaside and sand seaside,and the scene of the mountain and sea is marvelous.In the gulf which is about 8 kilometer length,the sand is clean and the moving beach is slow,and the wave is small.The water which is 5.7 meters close to the beach can be seen.It is an idea place for sea bathing and water sporting.Form the middle of 1980s,the northern beach of the city hasbeen developing quickly,and it has built seaside park,sea bathing place,three-mountain door,Eight-immortals palace,immortals looking at sea building,Eight immortals clossing the sea harbor.It is a good place for travelling,testing and curing.
Mirage:PengLai is famous for natural miracle "Mirage","Mirage"usually appears in the sea surface of northern PengLai pavilion.Last year,on October 24th,25th and December 16th,it appeared three times,This year,from 5:20 am on August,but this year it has become "gate-crasher",whichever season it is,people are possible to meet unexpectedly with it.
on the sea surface,first it takes on red bend,then it turns to purple and then it changes frequently which is hard to tell the truth and falsehood.
 The coming of mirage is because of the temperature difference between the sea surface air and the higher place air.There are two kinds:One is uprising scene.When the upper air temperature is higher than the surface temperature,the scene is like castles in the air;another is downhill scene.When the sea surface air temperature is higher then the upper air temperature,the scene is like inverted image.This year on August 29th the uprising scene appeared at the same time which was not seen once in a hundred years.
The mirage frequently appeared these year which has something directly with the environmental quality of penglai city.First,the air was clean.Second,there's basically no the mirage appeared.The travelling scenery sot in the west of PengLai pavilion,locates in the Dragon Head Mountain area .which is one kilometer west from PengLai pavilion.Dragon Head Mountain is famous for its top is very much like the head of the dragon.The elevation is 115 meters,the area od northern mountain area is 100 hectare,and it leans against the Bo sea,on the opposite of Chang Shan island.The forests are green,the flowers are florishing,the gulf is quiet,the air is clean,the sea products are rich,and the wild birds sing happily-it is an ideal travelling place.
 The western scenery spot is well designed and the overall arrangement is artisfically spaced,the mould of building unit is new and unique.Mushroom-like ealt mountain scene-seeing pavilion west mountain sea-seeing pavilion,stange-shaped barbecue pavilion,and carious stone steps,paths-all of then are full of natural happiness.
DengZhou Musium:The building area is 1300 square meters,and it is formed of preface hall,old city remains hall,thousand year harber hall,coast defence hall,cultural relic on show ,among which there are 4 first grade;12 second grade,45 third grade and 246 other unregular cultural relic.Through these cultural relic,models,photoes, and pictures,it shows thoroughly and subjectly the history of PengLai ,the underwater and land historial relic,the history of PengLai Water City and popularities and revolutionary tradition.The establishme-nt of its content and form breaks traditional model which is arranged by history order .It is outstanding in important points,and new and original in choice of subject,and very much characterized.Inside it is fully equiped with safe fire-fighting equipment and easy to light,heat,cool ventilate,communate and there is special passage for the disabled.the setting up of DengZhou Museum,makes the collected precious cultural relic meet with the outside world,and it furthor shows the value of cultural relic work,carry forward the deep cultural precipitate and national cultural tradition of ancient DengZhou.It not only adds the gap of the saying"there's no museum in PengLai"but also it becomes reference place of developing patriotism and historial materialism.
